Provance Technologies has been a great partner for Microsoft, engaging very early and often throughout the Service Manager 2010 product lifecycle. They provided key feedback and testing of the platform as they built out their comprehensive solution for IT asset lifecycle management for the last couple of years.
When we started out on the Service Manager 2010 project, we knew we couldn’t do it all and acknowledged that we really didn’t have the expertise in the area of asset management that would be required to build a good solution in that area at the time. In searching for a partner to provide that critical functionality, we looked for a company with a solid reputation, deep expertise, and existing integration with and knowledge of System Center. Provance has been in the IT asset management business for 12 years and has well respected products in market with existing integration to System Center Configuration Manager.
The interest in the Provance Asset Lifecycle MP has been huge. People can really see the obvious value proposition of recouping unused software licenses, tracking hardware inventory vs. purchase orders, managing the asset lifecycle from procurement through disposal, making sure that you are in compliance with software licensing, and even enabling better decisions to be made in change and incident management.
The Provance MP is now RTM and you can get a free 90-day trial version from their web site.
We’ll post a new demo video of their MP in action on the blog here pretty soon.
Thanks for being such great partners guys!
