Support Tip: Error with Intune and Office Click-to-Run

We’ve received a few cases recently related to Office Click-to-Run (C2R), using the Office Deployment Toolkit (ODT), and deployed through Intune. Customers have reported receiving the following error on devices that do not have a prior C2R version on them:

“Office couldn’t install because the version of Office that’s already installed on the device is either MSI or a different architecture. Make sure you’ve removed any MSI versions of Office and that any existing C2R versions have the same architecture as what you’re installing (32-bit or 64-bit).”

 

That error is intermittent and not wide-spread and is seen when the enrollment status screen is active. Within the Intune console, it shows up as error 17004 or 0x643.

    Hi-Can you confirm if the second fix has been implemented. We still continue to face the issue as of yesterday.
