Microsoft Tech Talks – Las Vegas – Introduction to Windows Desired State Configuration – July 9th, 2018

Hi folks in Las Vegas, NV., my peer Jeff Dykstra is presenting at a Tech Talks and he will be talking about Windows Desired State Configuration.

Windows PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC) is an extensible configuration management platform built into Windows and is the present and future standard for defining and managing Windows server configurations. DSC provides declarative and idempotent (repeatable) deployment, configuration, and conformance in a way agnostic to higher level configuration management tools. The DSC platform enables you to ensure that the components of your data center have the correct configuration, which avoids errors and prevents costly deployment failures, using a DevOps friendly methodology. This session will introduce you to the components of DSC focusing on applying DSC to manage Windows Servers both on-premises and off.

Jeff Dykstra is a Premier Field Engineer with Microsoft and has been automating Windows for nearly 20 years. When not working on or teaching automation, Jeff is a platform engineer supporting private, hybrid, and public cloud infrastructure.
