This guide explains how to configure components that are included in Windows Server® 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2012 to interoperate with 802.1X-capable wireless access points (APs) that you deploy on your network to provide 802.1X authenticated wireless access for your wireless network clients. This guide builds upon the Core Network Guide and the Windows Server® 2012 Core Network Companion Guide: Server Certificate Deployment. Server certificates are required when you deploy certificate-based authentication methods with Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) and Protected EAP (PEAP) for network access authentication.
