New! Core Network Companion Guide: Deploying Server Certificates

The Windows Server “8” Beta Core Network Companion Guide: Deploying Server Certificates is now available in Word format in the Microsoft Download Center at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=251761.

This guide explains how to build upon your core network by deploying server certificates for computers that are running Network Policy Server (NPS), Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS), or both. Server certificates are required when you deploy certificate-based authentication methods with Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) and Protected EAP (PEAP) for network access authentication.

Using these authentication methods is most secure when you deploy 802.1X-capable wireless access points and Ethernet switches, as well as VPN servers and other network access servers/RADIUS clients.
