Enable Consumerization through Unified Device Management

Last December we provided integration between Windows Intune and System Center 2012 SP1 Configuration Manager, giving organizations the ability to view and manage users’ PCs and mobile devices – both corporate-connected and cloud-based, within a single console and infrastructure.   Since mobile devices run applications and access corporate data just like PCs do, having an integrated approach allows you to apply policies and offer software to people within your organization in a consistent manner, without having to create duplicate infrastructures, use separate consoles, and new processes. 

With today’s release of System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager, you can connect to your Windows Intune subscription and take advantage of the new capabilities, including richer configuration settings for Windows, Windows RT, Windows Phone, iOS as well as Android.  Users will be able to install applications through consistent Company Portal aps for each device, and you will be able to provide them with easier access to resources with the ability to deploy certificates, VPN and Wi-Fi profiles.

    Any idea when the "Company Portal" app for Android will be available so we can also manage the Android systems from within SCCM 2012?

    The current (new) version number of Windows Intune is 4.0.14221.0.
