On Monday, a sold out TechEd crowd filled the room eager to hear STB President Satya Nadella unveil key modern Datacenter opportunities for Microsoft customers and partners. The keynote detailed how IT pros and developers can use Microsoft server and cloud technologies to transform their datacenters, modernize their apps, and gain insight from data of all types, shapes and sizes. On-stage, Satya was joined by several other Microsoft executives including Mark Russinovich, Scott Guthrie, Jason Zander and Amir Netz as well as stories from key customers showcasing the overwhelming support for Microsoft’s product lineup in the cloud.
Bringing technology to life, Satya revealed the amazing accomplishment from Bing in successfully migrating over 12k front end search servers to Windows Server 2012 RC – all live in production today. Jeff Woolsey demonstrated numerous scenarios with Windows Server 2012 and System Center 2012 SP1 showing the improvements in scalability with the performance of Hyper-V 3.0, new availability gains in storage & clustering, the ability to share resources with networking virtualization and our automation advances in Powershell.
Supporting all these new capabilities at TechEd is a jam-packed STB Partner Pavilion with over 40 partners showcasing applications and hardware supporting the new capabilities of Windows Server 2012.
