Microsoft 6to4 adapter is not working.

SYMPTOM

Microsoft 6to4 adapter is not working.

In Device Manager, you can see the following error in Device Status box:

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

CAUSE

The installed network adapter driver may not support the Microsoft 6to4 adapter.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft 6to4 Adapter is a virtual device which does some conversions between IPv6 and IPv4.

To troubleshoot this issue, first of all, please contact your network card manufactures’ support and check if any update drivers is released to support this feature. If the issue persists, please also try the following:

l If this computer is in a home environment, you can just uninstall the 6to4 adapter. To uninstall the 6to4 adapter, right-click it and click Uninstall.

l If your computer is part of a business network, consult your network administrator for the most appropriate action. There may be company tested drivers for your computer or there may be other considerations before you disable any IPv6 components.
