Programmers <3 games! It's….TechNet Article of the Week!

VB.Net Vertex, by

What a delight to find such a simple and fun example of a great VB game, in our inbox last week!

This takes me back to the days of "Crash" magazine (for the ZX Spectrum)

Someone had the great idea of putting simple games they wrote as compiled machine code - just raw 0's and 1's - filling many pages of the magazine.

We could copy to a file and run it! How's that for download speed, by monthly magazine!

I remember a 3d maze game that I spent weeks copying by eye, 101101011000100001010111010110101001.. etc

A very early lesson in "human error" and careful work practices!

Thanks to the marvels of modern technology, this is now almost as simple as cut and paste!

And Paul has provided some nighty text to copy, with just enough explanation to get you started 🙂

Paul is also a winner with this article in this week's Top Contributors Awards!

He has been beavering away at it, buffing it to perfection, for your consumption!

Great Work Paul!

Thanks for sharing!

Great to get a featured article. I started writing the game quite some time before i released it here, but i got bored with it and left it unfinished. Something reminded me, and i rewrote the part that was holding it back… and here it is 😀
