Wiki Life: Feature Request - Article Visit Count!

I am so glad to write my first blog post in the New Year!

As an author, do you know how many times your article has been visited?

Did you find a nice article and were curious about how many people read it?

What we need in order to answer these questions is a place in each article that shows this golden number: the “article visited count”. This number shows how many times that article was visited by the readers. This number must also show up when users search articles, like in this sample picture:  view-count

We can call it: "Number of Readers" or "Visited Quantity" or "Views Count".

IMHO, this will be one of the most useful features in TechNet Wiki platform. If we built this feature, it can become very handy in the following situations:

  1. It helps the readers to know the article popularity and credibility
  2. It may help authors to fill MVP nomination form with accurate numbers
  3. It can be a good factor for selecting the featured articles
  4. It may help blog writers to select best articles for “spotlight article” entries
  5. Judges for TechNet guru awards can use it when facing with two same level articles
  6. It can even help in selecting best articles of the year!

And always remember Peter Geelen's quote:

If you want to suggest new features, or updates to current features, please check: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/4703.feature-requests-for-technet-and-msdn-profiles-and-social-platform-tools.aspx
You can always add ideas and feedback.

I wish we get this feature in 2017!

Happy New Year!
