Wiki Life: MVP authors & contributors

Microsoft MVP logoConsistent readers of the Wiki Ninjas blog know that we often talk about MVPs or Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals. It occurred to me though that some people might not know that MVPs play an active role in both the TechNet Wiki and the Wiki Ninjas blog. This post will help you find out more about the MVP program and the part we play.

According to Microsoft, “MVPs are community leaders who’ve demonstrated an exemplary commitment to helping others get the most out of their experience with Microsoft technologies. They share their exceptional passion, real-world knowledge, and technical expertise with the community and with Microsoft.”

In other words, MVPs combine their love for a Microsoft product with their passion for giving back to the community. This can especially be seen on the Wiki Ninjas blog. On Mondays, we profile exceptional wiki authors through our Interview with a Wiki Ninja series and many of them are MVPs. As well, most of the Wiki Ninjas blog contributors are MVPs and if you search for the term “MVP” within the blog you will get multiple pages of search results.

Within the TechNet Wiki, you will also find many articles that are written by MVPs. If you want to search for items authored by MVPs, you can filter the wiki by the following tags:

Finally, if you are an MVP and you author wiki articles, this is also a good reminder to start tagging your posts with one or more of the above tags. (If you want to use only one, I would go with "MVP Author".) You worked hard for the MVP designation, proudly display it by tagging your articles!
