TNWiki Article Spotlight - Windows IoT with Intel Galileo

Hi everyone, and welcome to our TNWiki Article Spotlight on Tuesday.

The next future

Today we will focus again on IoT, being this a topic of great actuality and sure future growth. As Gartner forecasted about two weeks ago, «6.4 billion connected things will be in use worldwide in 2016, up 30 percent from 2015, and will reach 20.8 billion by 2020. In 2016, 5.5 million new things will get connected every day». So it's better to get ready to catch the opportunities given by such a scenario, in which we'll have far more connected devices than people, learning the fundamentals of Internet of Things, and becoming able to pick up the challenges of the future!

What's in the Spotlight?

The article presented in our today's Spotlight is «Windows IoT with Intel Galileo», written by Pooja Baraskar.

With her article, Pooja has won the first place in the Miscellaneous Technical Guru Award (August 2015), and has been included in TechNet Wiki Magazine (Flipboard) October 2015 Edition.

While an article doesn't need to win any competitions for us to blog about it, the fact that Pooja's contribution had received such appreciation give more than an hint about its quality. It's a very well written article, which serves in introducing the reader to the Intel Galileo Board, explaining how to prepare a PC to communicate with the device itself, proceeding then in showing how to install a Windows image on the board, and finally in using Visual Studio 2013 to develop software on it.

Please join me in thanking Pooja for sharing her article, which enriches the TechNet Knowledge Base with a skill that will surely became of great importance in the near future, if not now.

Have a great Tuesday!
