TNWiki Article Spotlight - Stop and Start VMs with Automation on Microsoft Azure

Hello and welcome everybody to our TNWiki Article Spotlight on Tuesday.

Something I always have to deal with when working with Azure is to start and stop a VM. For a single VM there is no problem: go to the portal and start/stop the VM (or write a script). For a whole cluster or different kinds of resources that can be painful. One way to deal with it is writing a script to start and stop the VMs. A better way is to use Azure Automation. Michel Jatoba wrote a nice article about stopping and starting VMs with Azure Automation. He starts by creating an Automation account and adding users to it. The important part of the article focuses on the scripts for starting and stopping the VMs and how to integrate them into a Runbook in Azure Automation.

Nice read and if you want to save some time to start and stop VMs, Azure Automation is a service you should have a look at.
