Now let's get to the interviews!

Who are you, where are you, and what do you do? What are your specialty technologies?

Good morning! My name is Santhosh Sivarajan. I currently work for Edgile Inc where my primary focus is Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) and technologies.  I am responsible for delivering Microsoft Azure based technologies and solutions for our clients.  Prior to joining Edgile, I was an Architect at Astadia (Formerly Idea Integration) where I lead the Microsoft infrastructure practice group in Texas.

I am an author of 2 books (so far - more coming soonJ) -“Migrating from Windows Server 2008 to 2012” and “Windows Server Security Essentials”.  I usually add my technical notes on to my blog (https://portal.sivarajan.com). In addition, I am a frequent contributor to Microsoft TechNet, MSDN and other community websites.

I am a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in identity/directory services since 2011.

I have a Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Houston – Victoria.  I live in Sugarland, Texas with my wife Anjali who is also an IT professional and our three year old daughter Gayathri.

What are your big projects right now?

I am currently at an enterprise customer site in Houston, TX where I am designing and implementing Single-Sign-On (SSO) for various applications and multifactor authentication (MFA) for on premises and cloud based applications using Microsoft Azure technology and EMS product suite.

So far, I have obtained MCITP, MCTS, MCSE, MCSA, Network+, CCNA, ITIL and many more Microsoft and third party certifications.  My next focus is Microsoft and other cloud certifications.

Discussions are in progress for my new book.  It will be about Microsoft Azure technology.

I am leading a technology user group in Houston called “Houston IT Consultants”.  We meet every month to discuss the new developments and trends in IT field.

What is TechNet Wiki for? Who is it for?

It “can be” for everyone.  TechNet Wiki includes theoretical and practical approach to a solution or technology. This practical experience and knowledge are coming from people like you and me who are implementing the solution and facing the customer every day. The TechNet Wiki a huge repository of real world scenarios which makes it more valuable.

What do you do with TechNet Wiki, and how does that fit into the rest of your job?

TechNet Wiki offers a wide range of articles on various Microsoft technologies. It can be used as a reference material as well and a step-by-step instruction guide while implementing a solution.  I have used these articles as a reference for implementation.   I have also updated serval of these articles with the knowledge that I have gained from my work.

What is it about TechNet Wiki that interests you?

As stated previously, TechNet wiki offers a solutions based on real world experience.   I am interested by the fact that here we can come across an integration of the technical concepts with real world scenarios.is

On what Wiki articles do you spend most of your time?

Previously I was more involved in Active Directory technology. So I have created and updated articles related to Active Directory and Windows Server. These days, I focus more on Azure technology based articles.

What are your favorite Wiki articles you’ve contributed?

I have contributed to several articles.  But here are some of my factories:

Active Directory Upgrade - High Level Steps

Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) Overview

Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) Commands and Scripts

Who has impressed you in the Wiki community, and why?

I have come across several professionals who have contributed tremendously to this community.  My favorites are Richard Mueller and Ed Price. I am highly impressed by their know legible contributions.

Do you have any tips for new Wiki authors?

The amount of practical knowledge is what makes a TechNet Wiki article different and more valuable.  So always try to include scenarios, issues and resolution based on your experience.  This would make your article stand out in the crowd.

Please join me in thanking Santhosh for an amazing library of content he's given to the community!
