Let's get to the interview:

Who are you, where are you, and what do you do? What are your specialty technologies?

Good Day to the community. My name is Danish Islam. I am from City of Nawabs (Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh) in India. I am 29 years old and have a loving family. Recently we have a new member added to the family – my sweet little angel (my daughter).

I completed my engineering in 2009 and joined Infosys. Currently I am working in Accenture as a SharePoint Developer. I have almost 6 years of experience.

My first project was on SharePoint 2007. Since then I am passionate about SharePoint and worked on 2007, 2010 and 2013 versions. I am MCP in SharePoint 2013 Core Solutions and MCTS in SharePoint 2010 Application Development.

Besides SharePoint I do have a good knowledge on PowerShell, jQuery and Bootstrap.

I have expertise in creating client side solutions in SharePoint and always look for opportunities to play around with different areas in SharePoint.

What are your big projects right now?

Right now I am studying to complete SharePoint 2013 Advanced Solutions (70-489) certification. I also have a blog where I share my knowledge or experiences in SharePoint or other stuff I work on. Also I am planning to write some more quality articles on TechNet probably on SharePoint Search and User Profile.

What is TechNet Wiki for? Who is it for?

TechNet Wiki is an ocean of knowledge created – for the people and by the people. It’s all about helping each other - learn from others and share with others.

What do you do with TechNet Wiki, and how does that fit into the rest of your job?

I read the articles published by users and try to write new articles covering different areas of technology or format a forum answer into a useful wiki article. Being a developer, I frequently browse Microsoft forums or blogs or Wiki articles for reference and technical insights. Contributing to forums or TechNet wiki also helps me keep track of what I have learned and share that learning with community to save someone else’s time or effort looking for similar thing.

What is it about TechNet Wiki that interests you?

The most interesting fact is the motivation and commitment of people to help each other. We start an article with initial thought, but it’s groomed by people – by co-authoring, editing, formatting etc. - to become a useful Wiki article. It helps to make information accurate and precise.

What are your favorite Wiki articles you’ve contributed?

My first article https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/30826.sharepoint-site-urls-not-working-without-appending-default-aspx.aspx is my favorite. This article helped me win my first SharePoint Technical Guru Gold medal in April 2015.
