TNWiki Article Spotlight - Local Files

Welcome to another Tuesday, the day of the week that Wiki Ninjas write a post highlighting a TechNet Wiki article.

Today the article we are going to highlight is the article that won the April month's TechNet Guru Awards under Visual C# Category, an article from Andy ONeill titled Local Files. This article was included in TechNet Wiki (Flipboard) Magazine May 2015 Edition.

Andy has started off with the article with bit of a history telling how Windows XP allowed it's file system to be accessed from applications. Then he explains how those file system access permission got changed with the later versions of Windows Operating Systems starting with Windows Vista. With that, Andy started giving a very detailed explanation about "AppData" folder and it's sub folders which are LocalLow, Local, Local\IsolatedStorage and Roaming. While explaining each of these in detail, he has mentioned when and how we can use each of these folders when we are developing applications.
