TNWiki Article Spotlight – SharePoint 2013: Building Custom Forms

Hello and welcome everybody to our TNWiki Article Spotlight on Tuesday.

Forms and lists have always been an elementary part of SharePoint. One of the common tasks when customizing SharePoint is building a custom form for manipulating items in a list. Dan Christian started an article, called SharePoint 2013: Building Custom Forms, which guides you through every single step, including creating the list and customizing the different item forms. Each one of these steps is also illustrated by a picture. But that is not enough. This article also contains three videos walking you through some of the steps.

If you are interested in customizing forms in SharePoint 2013, this article is for you! Also check out the videos.

Sorry for the critique but this should be a million times easier than going through all these steps. Where is a visual design tool? What would posses anyone to want to try doing this who wasn’t already an advanced programmer thus probably not wanting to
be limited to SharePoint in the first place? This is a prime example of Microsoft missing the mark and not understanding the audience who actually would like to use the product.
