Wiki Life: Porting Blog Posts as TechNet Wiki's and Vice Versa

I am sure, most of you have been maintaining your own technical blog. Have you ever considered porting them as TechNet Wiki articles or vice versa?

Well, if you haven’t, in this post let’s see how easy it is to port your blog post into a TechNet Wiki article.

I have been running my blog on Google’s Blogger and for the demonstration I will be showing how you can port a Blogger post into a TechNet wiki article. If you are using Wordpress or any other blogging engine, the concept is basically the same.

Now let's say I have one of my blog posts which I need to be ported into TechNet Wiki article.

First open up the blog post in the edit mode.

There you should be able to get the HTML content of underlined post.

Now select all and hit Ctrl + C. Go to TechNet Wiki and click on "Post an Article". There in the editor, go to HTML view.

Now press Ctrl+V and switch back to Design mode.

Now you should be able to see the formatted article.

The other way around, which is porting a TechNet wiki article into a blog post, is basically the same. The only difference is, this time you copy from the TechNet Wiki article and paste in your blog post.

So that's easy as that. Before publishing your TechNet Wiki article, please do keep following in mind. In your blog post, you might be putting a signature at the end of the post. In wiki articles you don't include personal signatures, because once you published a wiki, It is no longer your article, but a community's article written by the whole community.

Happy Coding.
