Wiki Life: Glossary of Technology Acronyms

Hello and welcome everybody to our Wednesday - Wiki Life post.

"Alright, my name is Jan and I'm a MVP for MA (formerly known as WA) and work a lot with MAWS (formerly known as WAWS) and love MAMS (formerly known as WAMS). Currently I'm more in the area of BI and IT-Pro with AD, SP, O365 and stuff like that!"

Have you ever been in a discussion like this? I'm sure you have been. It is hard to translate this sentence into the following one if the mentioned technologies are not part of your business:

"Alright, my name is Jan and I'm a Most Valuable Professional for Microsoft Azure (formerly known as Windows Azure) and work a lot with Microsoft Azure Web Sites (formerly known as Windows Azure Web Sites) and love Microsoft Azure Mobile Services (formerly known as Windows Azure Mobile Service). Currently I'm more in the area of Business Intelligence and IT-Professional with Active Directory, SharePoint, Office 365 and stuff like that!"

This problem is not limited to discussions only. You will also find it in technical articles, that means you will find it on our wiki. To stop you from shouting and running away, maybe looking for your dictionary, Richard Mueller created an article with a glossary about technical acronyms. So, before you start shouting or running away the next time you are in this situation, browse to Richard's article and strike back.

May the glossary be with you!
