Friday with International Community Update – Progress in each language (Jan. 2014)

Hello, community!
Today is Friday with International Community Update.

The end of December is as follows:

The topic of this month:

  • There wasn't the order change.
  • The Top 5 languages are continuing to progress very well (with 19 or more new articles each). Particularly, the Top 3 languages are getting a lot of new articles (with 128 or more new articles each)!
  • Persian (Farsi) stopped. Their contributions had continued for 16 consecutive months.

The progress of "Translated into Language" tag

A half year passed from the last survey where we checked in on the "Translated into" language tags. Furthermore, the most recent Translation Challenge finished, so I tried checking how the languages have progressed!

With the victory of the contest, Portuguese reclaimed the top spot!! French and German which also got a splendid result in the contest rose their rank.

Wow, Japanese! This is a truly unfortunate result. I think that we have to work harder.

  1. So many Turkish articles! Japanese dropped from #1 for most translated in July 2013 to #4! Thanks, Tomoaki! This is great!

  2. Hm, think Dutch needs a boost too.

  3. Durval Ramos says:

If the Persian language stopped translate, this is a great opportunity for the Italian language grow up in the ranking. The French language is also doing an amazing work… and the Brazilian language returning to the top of the ranking… it’s very happiness!
Thanks Tomoaki, this are great news !

  4. Congratulations to all communities. I’m very proud of the community of Brazil and France.

  5. Congratulations to all communities. Thank you for information.

  6. Congratulations to Persian contributors!

  7. Naomi N says:

Why Spanish is shown with -1 although there are more translations this year comparing with the last year according to this table?

  8. Naomi, the -1 means it fell from 6th place into 7th. It’s because French jumped up 5 spots from 7th to 2nd!
