Interview with a Microsoft Project MVP - Allan Rocha.

Hello everyone, and welcome to Monday Interview.

This week is my pleasure to present the Allan Rocha contributor to TechNet Wiki.

Who are you, where are you, and what do you do? What are your specialty technologies?

My name is Allan Rocha, Brazilian, 29 years old, currently leaving in Copenhagen, Denmark, working as team leader of a high performance group of ppm consultants.

I’m a Project MVP and for the last 11 years my focus is the Microsoft PPM Solution (SharePoint + Project Server + Project Professional).

How did you become an MVP? Do you have any suggestions for other community members who hope to eventually become a MVP?

In 2007, when I was owner of my company (Sotis Consultoria), I had an idea to start a blog about this EPM/PPM world.

Then I created the www.mundoepm.com.br to talk and share as much as possible about the Microsoft EPM/PPM solution.

My personal suggestion to become a MVP is simple:

Love you job

Share everything

That’s how I become a MVP!

How did you get introduced to TechNet WIki? And what was your first collaboration?

I was introduced to the TechNet Wiki few years ago… really cannot remember.

But probably a geek friend.

One of my firsts collaborations was:

Criando Gráficos e Dashboards usando PerformancePoint e Project Server 2010 (SharePoint + Project Server Better Together) (pt-BR)

I, personally, think that it is a pretty cool post!!

As I told before, I have few ways to share my knowledge:

Blog: www.mundoepm.com.br

Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Mundoepm

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/allancrocha

Seminars and conferences.

I’m also launching my iOS and Windows Phone app.

I will update this post as soon as the apps get 100% available!

What are your big projects right now?

My big projects are split in different places.

Scandinavia and Europe are my main focus, but I’m still having many contacts and running tasks in Brazil and USA!

Work with project and portfolio management isn’t a work for me… it’s a hobby!

I love it.

What do you do with TechNet Wiki, and how does that fit into the rest of your job?

Always when I have something cool created by me or my team, it’s time to stop the work and share with the community!

What is it about TechNet Wiki That interests you?

The possibility to share and the entire community be allowed to contribute at the same article it’s very nice!

On what articles have you collaborated with other community members on #TNWiki? What was that experience like?

Since I was writing the book (500 pages) for the last 8 months… I could not collaborate too much.
But I will start now searching for something about Project Server 2013.

What are your favorite articles you’ve contributed?

One of my favorites articles is definitely the same I mentioned above:

Criando Gráficos e Dashboards usando PerformancePoint e Project Server 2010 (SharePoint + Project Server Better Together) (pt-BR)

Who has impressed you in the Wiki community, and why?

My friend Hezequias Vasconcelos always has the ability to impress me!!!

You’ve done fairly well on the Wiki. Do you have any tips or recommendations about editing or authoring articles?

Follow the rules about the language tags!!! Hehehe.

Was my big issue in the past.

Thank you Allan Rocha, for all your contributions to the community!

Ninja Hezequias Vasconcelos.
