Wiki Life: Technical Editing

Hello and welcome everybody to our Wednesday – Wiki Life post.

The last time on Wiki Life I wrote about what content is not appropriate for our wiki. Today I want to point you to an article which will show you how you can make it better. Technical Editing, created by Naomi, gives a short, but comprehensive check list for every wiki article. It starts with the common tags you can use, how you can check your content, the layout, the resulting HTML, and how you can improve your article. Especially for new wiki article writers this article is a must read.

  1. Short and sweet. Thanks, Jan. And thanks to Naomi for putting that together for us. What articles cross-link to Naomi's article?

Is it in the Getting Started article yet?

Does it belong in the Guidelines portal? I think so, because the UX Guidelines article is in there, and this Technical Editing article is like a sub-set of that.

    Thanks!

Well done Naomi, what a great article! Amazing layout and content. Very useful, just what I wanted to know. How did you ever come up with such a great idea? 😀

  3. Also, I just realized that XAML guy wrote all this stuff at the top: social.technet.microsoft.com/…/compare.aspx

Also there is a translation of this article into Russian now: Вики: На что обратить внимание при редактировании (ru-RU)
