Interview with a Wiki Ninja – Benoît Jester, a New French Contributor !!

Hello! Welcome to another Interview with a new Wiki Ninja! Today's interview is with... Benoit Jester. So, why did I interview him? Because he is a great friend of mine and he is pushing articles in French on the WIKI (he will push more than 100 articles in one year, he promised me) So other communities, get scared, we are coming with our French Articles!! ( I'm Satanic ^^ )

Just have a look at his excellent writing skills, and you will understand why I pushed him to come and contribute on the most prestigious wiki -> The TechNet WIKI!

Who are you, where are you, and what do you do? What are your specialty technologies?

Hello everyone. My name is Benoît Jester and I’m a SharePoint addict!

I discovered SharePoint in 2005, with the help of a SharePoint MVP, who detailed me the architecture of a SharePoint farm, before introducing me the Object Model. The beginning of a new career ! Freelance since 2008, I work actually (since 3.5 years
now) as a SharePoint Expert for a multinational, in Paris La Défense.

Tell us about the French communities on TechNet Wiki. How did it start? What’s it like? Is it growing?

Thanks to Gokan Ozcifci, I discovered the TechNet Wiki “World” a while ago.

I found this Wiki very interesting, and decided to add my contribution, but let’s be honest, there’s actually too few French articles. We have to work on it ! 🙂 So yes, the Wiki French community will grow up !

What are your big projects right now?

Professionaly, a big SharePoint 2013 enterprise portal will be published in a few months, for the entire group (150.000 potential users), the pressure increases slowly …

Personaly, I should soon make an announcement about a project I’m actually working on. I really hope that it will be appreciated and useful to the community! What’s the subject ? A secret for now, but stay tuned, I will be soon searching for beta-testers.

Besides your work on TechNet Wiki, where do you contribute?

In addition to my Wiki contributions, I will continue to write articles on my blog (, dedicated to SharePoint 2013 (and friends) – Written in french only ! I worked a lot on it during the past year, and apparently it helped quite a lot of people. Goal achieved 🙂

Cà tombe bien c’était le but 🙂

What is TechNet Wiki for? Who is it for?

From my point of view, TechNet Wiki is for EVERYONE who is searching for technical information. You have so many topics and articles where you can find what you’re searching for, articles being written by skilled people. Not convinced? Go have a look! And don’t forget that you can contribute to these articles, too.

Who has impressed you in the Wiki community, and

When I read the “Top Contributors Awards” article on the Wiki Ninjas blog, I’m quite impressed by some members’ activities. 436 activities completed by Gokan last week, or 637 revisions by another Steef-Jan, it’s a HUGE contribution to the TechNet Wiki – and it’s only a few examples !

SharePoint Ninja & and SharePoint Pirate,

Gokan Ozcifci
