TNWiki Article Spotlight - How to Post a Wiki Article Announcement to a TechNet Forum

Hello and welcome everybody to our TNWiki Article Spotlight on Tuesday.

How many of you do both answering question on the TechNet forums and writing wiki articles? Are these two are separate? I have talked about it in the past with Margriet Bruggeman as a good example how a community works and wins together. The article I like to present today is another way how this synergy between forum and wiki could be used.

Have you ever asked yourself how you could promote your wiki articles also in other places than the wiki itself? What would be the best place for promoting it? Simple answer: The forums. If you have the feeling that your article is really valuable to others and you like to bring people to it there's no better place than talking about it in the forums (beside this blog of course ;-)). Markus Vilcinskas has written an article how you can post a wiki article announcement to a TechNet forum nearly six weeks ago. He shows how you can use the "start a discussion" feature in the forums to bring some attention to your article. Additionally he presents some templates you can use to promote your article through simple copy and paste work.

Something left to say? Not really, but I'm looking forward to see a lot of good wiki article announcements in the future. If you have used the instruction of this article to announce your article, just let me know through the comments box. I really like to hear from you!
