Hello and welcome to the Community Win series of TechNet Wiki!
Today I would like to share some charts again (well, it always can be expected from me).
If you keep an eye on the TechNet Wiki main page, then you might know that there is a Recent Activity section at the bottom of the page. It has a Show More link as well. Just click on it for a few times, and the history of the Wiki will open up for you.
Now extract the data to Excel, do some manual magic, and create a new PivotTable. Add a chart and poof, statistics made in a few seconds!
Let’s see what happened in the last 8 hours (when I created this “snapshot”):
This means 9 new articles, 29 comments and 59 edits from 24 Wiki Ninjas! Fantastic work. It’s a bit difficult to tell which color is which Ninja, so let’s see them in the order of their activity count:
But, these are “just” statistics, and it’s better if we don’t forget two things.
First, these numbers are just from the last 8 hours of the TechNet Wiki. The sample might be unrepresentative. But make a quick calculation and you can roughly guess how fast Wiki grows. There will be new things to write about, always. And of course, new Ninjas will come and join.
Second, that a single comment or edit can be very important. It can be very heartening if someone posts a simple “thanks” as a comment. It keeps the spirit of all earlier contributors of a Wiki page. And of course, mistakes should be corrected. So, every small thing counts. This is why I left all of the names on the first chart 🙂
All Wiki Ninjas – thanks for all your contributions!
