Community Win: TechNet Wiki growing bigger and wider

Welcome again to the Community Win series of the Technet WikiNinjas Blog!

As many may be aware of, getting bigger is not good in all circumstances. However, when it comes to available content online, being loaded and fat is good. There are currently topics from programming in .Net, SharePoint, BizTalk to gather all Windows 7 Event Logs by using PowerShell. When I'm writing this blog post there's already up to 8,406 articles, 46,739 revisions, 21,154 comments and over 2,400 users that have contributed. That in itself is memorable, admirable and showing a huge dedication from community members and from Microsoft in all kinds of platforms.

Not all the content is related to troubleshooting, plenty of articles describe different products by Microsoft, SharePoint, Surface, BizTalk, SQL Azure, WindowsPhone, and If this isn't enough our well known performance guru Clint Huffman have decided to contribute with some very good articles related to performance.

However the TechNet Wiki has gone even further, there was recently a competition on the TechNet Wiki, translating the most articles into their native language, in 4 weeks, 17 people translated a total 260 Wiki articles (mostly from English) into 7 languages, Portuguese, German, Spanish, Norwegian, Italian, Japanese, French and Dutch. And it seem like the competition still keeps on rolling even though the winner have been announced but to be true, the real winner is us, we now have several articles translated into our native languages so that it is easier for us to understand, not all people understand English easy and a TechNet Wiki article translated into their language is easier.

Some people have been really active the last 7 days with a combination of over 2,000 comments, edits and new articles, check out this insane screenshot:

We can only imagine where this will end and how far it will go, I'm hoping the schematics on how-to-build your own Audi R8 will end up here in the end.

Either way, I need to end this with a huge THANK YOU, to all that have contributed, helped out and read this wiki pages, it's a great resource for all people working with Microsoft Technologies!
