International Update – going beyond writing at TNWIKI

Hello folks, Yuri Diogenes here for the Friday International Update and today I want to talk about going beyond writing at TechNet Wiki. What that really means? Recently a great contributor of the TechNet Wiki Brazilian Community sent an email to me with an interesting story about evangelizing others to use the TechNet Wiki Platform.

The contributor that I’m referring to is Uilson Souza (@usouzajr), here are Uilson’s words about the impact that TNWIKI can cause on a business presentation:

“I was presenting to one of our customers about Forefront TMG, explaining the major elements of our project there. During this discussion they started talking about documentation. I explained that the product is very well documented and that the content is still growing in PT-BR. At that point I opened my TechNet Profile and started showing them the TechNet Wiki articles that I wrote about that subject. Then after showing the articles I took some time to explain the TechNet Wiki Platform, how it is easy to use and to publish articles. Explained the flexibility of this platform, mentioning that in case they discover things that are not documented, they can write their own articles to help the community. The end result was amazing and honestly at the end we were talking much more about TNWIKI than the project itself”

This is GREAT!! This is a true proof that you can bring the TechNet Wiki experience to a corporate environment and make impact during your conversation. I’m glad that the community is starting to use this tool not only to write content but also to show to our customers the value of a community platform that can impact in so many ways.

Now I want to let my friend Luiz Oliveira to talk a bit, he also has some interesting follow ups.

Around the World with TNWIKI by Luiz Henrique Lima Campos

I've been informed that TechNet Wiki continues to grow every month with your contributions, I see that the community is engaged with this project, this week we had great contributions from Vietnam (VN-VI) with the MVP Hieu Dao with great articles talking about Windows Server 2008 (all our Vietnamese articles). Another great contributor is dotRaphael MVP that writes articles about SCCM 2007 (pt-br), very good contributions Raphael congratulations and keep it coming! I also noticed how we have two great keepers against spam, Ben Armstrong [MSFT] and Fernando Lugão Veltem. Great work guys!

You all have a great holiday season !
