Microsoft Embeds HIPAA Compliance into Office 365

Microsoft Lync 2010 Released for iPhone and iPad
Microsoft has released two new apps for the iOS platform, Microsoft Lync 2010 for iPhone and Lync 2010 for iPad, targeted at enterprise users with an Apple gadget in their pocket or bag. Both free downloads – though requiring a Lync Server or Office365/Lync Online account in order to actually function – the two apps offer instant messaging, audio conferencing and VoIP calls while on the move.

So far, three million voice lines are connected using Lync, Burney claimed. He pointed to a Microsoft-commissioned Forrester Consulting study (PDF) that projected a return on investment for deploying Microsoft solutions (including Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Exchange 2010, and Communications Server 2007 R2) of greater than 300 percent.

Migrating Google to SharePoint
Metavis Technologies has debuted Migrator for Google Apps, which allows customers to migrate Google content to either a hosted or on-premise-based SharePoint solution.

Slalom Consulting Brings Effective Cloud-based Solutions to Businesses
As 2011 comes to a close, the company has migrated more than 500,000 seats to Microsoft's cloud services, specifically - including Business Productivity Online Suite, Microsoft Office 365, and Windows Azure.
