TechEd Developers 2007 Barcelona: Day 0

It's a little after 4pm on Sunday afternoon in Barcelona as I write to you from the Speakers' Lounge at the Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona, known to this American visitor as the Barcelona International Convention Center. Registration has been open since 10am, and while I haven't been here that long, there has been a steady stream of people checking in.

Today was supposed to be my big tourist day in Barcelona.. but my circadian clock kicked in. I woke up at 4:15am local time, rolled over, and woke up again a little after 2pm this afternoon! I must've been tired. My plan to see some of the city today was necessarily reduced in scope. I attempted to stick my toes into the Mediterranean Sea, but the coastline near my hotel isn't exactly untouched by human hands. I had to settle for standing on a jetty and enjoying the sea breeze, but mark my words: my toes will touch salt water before they touch another airport.

I'll of course have reportage of a more technical nature as the week proceeds, and I may even post some photographs if I can figure out how to do so.

Stay tuned!
