DWWTWT?: December 15

I'm going to go public with today's usually "hidden" post for reasons which will become obvious.

I planned to walk to work today..  I really did..  but the power went out at our place about two hours after last night's post and just now came back on.

The overnight windstorm was deeply crazy.  My daughter needed medical attention last night, so we were out in the middle of it, dodging falling branches in a Toyota Sienna minivan.  We spent an hour looking for a pharmacy before returning back to the hospital to get her prescriptions filled.

Daybreak brought more surprises, as Microsoft was dark along with the surrounding neighborhood, and our neighbors three doors down had a tree come into their house (thankfully, all of their two- and four-legged loved ones got out safely).

All in all a pretty hectic day, even though from the perspective of the daily commuting tally it was a non-competitive one:

Did Not Compete:

Still no Christmas lights..  but I've got a real good excuse today..

From a commuting and working perspective, I'll be non-competitive for the rest of the calendar year as our family celebrates the holidays.  There will be the usual automated DWWTWT? posts, a couple of T-SQL tidbits I've been hording, and a seasonal post, but other than that, I anticipate that the blog will be quiescent until after the new year.

Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and Happy New Year to you and yours from me and mine!

UPDATED 26 December 2005 for a clerical error.
