XML Programming in SQL Server 2005

With the RTM of SQL Server 2005, excitement is understandably running very high in the SQL Server developer community. If you haven't had a chance to get your hands on this release, I urge you to do so as soon as you can. It absolutely rocks. MSDN subscribers can download it here (and will also like this page).

One of the more exciting aspects of the product to me are the syntax enhancements (and resultant productivity gains) in XML programming. Now seems a good time to remind you of something I mentioned in my innaugural post here: that I was privileged to write an article for the Spring 2005 Technet magazine which discusses the new XML syntax. If you're about to get your hands on the product and want to hit the ground running with these changes, I offer this article as a jumping-off point for your kicking-of-the-tires.

The launch tour for SQL Server 2005 starts on Monday, November 7 in San Francisco. The full schedule is here.

Please let me know what you think.. of SQL Server 2005, and what you're reading here about it!
