Secure Productive Enterprise licensing unlocks new flexibility for customers navigating to the cloud

As announced on July 7, Microsoft is introducing the Secure Productive Enterprise in Q4, 2016 to empower customers in their Digital Transformation, with uncompromising productivity, collaboration, mobility, business insights and, perhaps most importantly, a secure experience.

Secure Productive Enterprise also marks one more step in our journey to modernize licensing, making it easier for customers to buy what they need from Microsoft with new licensing flexibility to deploy on-premises or in the cloud, wherever they are in their transformation.

As announced, the Secure Productive Enterprise offerings include:

And for the first time, customers will enjoy licensing flexibility in a single, per-user offer that includes never-before cloud-first, on-premises capable licensing entitlements together to help them transition from on-premises environments at their own pace. This means no more counting devices, no more counting productivity servers, no need to add licenses when moving between on-premises and cloud – simply license per-user, to address on-premises and cloud needs.

Both offerings of Secure Productive Enterprise include*:

  • On-premises productivity server entitlements including Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business for any user licensed with Secure Productive Enterprise
  • One on-premises install of Office Professional Plus per user

The Office Professional Plus license grants and productivity server entitlements provided with Secure Productive Enterprise help customers address special line-of-business and mission critical scenarios that may otherwise impact their digital transformation. There will be licensing paths for current Microsoft customers to easily acquire Secure Productive Enterprise.

At launch, Secure Productive Enterprise E3 and E5 will be available through the Enterprise Agreement, Enterprise Agreement Subscription, and Microsoft Products and Services Agreement. Secure Productive Enterprise E3 and E5 will also become available in the Cloud Solution Provider program.
