Windows Embedded 8, the internet of things, now available through Microsoft Volume Licensing

Microsoft announced the availability of Windows Embedded 8 volume licensing for enterprises. Windows Embedded 8 is a platform specifically designed to extend the power and experience of Windows 8 to embedded industry systems such as kiosks, point-of-sale devices, and digital signs. Windows Embedded 8 products will be available to enterprise customers through the standard Volume Licensing channel, delivering the benefits that come with this channel directly to the enterprise.

This benefits organizations by allowing direct access to features and upgrades while providing greater functionality. Organizations can capitalize on their already existing IT infrastructure, and provide enterprises solutions to drive a new level of Intelligent System and harness the potential of the Internet of Things.
