Introduction to System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 with PRO

January 29th , 2009

The webcast will touch on key functions that VMM 2008 brings to IT – enabling physical to virtual conversions (P2Vs), server consolidation, rapid provisioning of new virtual machines and Intelligent Placement of those machines on the best suited physical hardware, among others. Additionally, the session will highlight a feature new to VMM 2008 called Performance and Resource Optimization (PRO) which can help administrators quickly identify issues that may arise within their virtual infrastructure – such as an over-resourced CPU or failed component – and provide a remedial recommendation.  Furthermore, PRO provides an extensible framework that allows partners to build custom solutions and this webcast will feature three partners describing their PRO-enabled offerings.

Hyper-V and SAP Implementation Best Practices

January 30th, 2009

This webcast will provide best practices for the usage of Hyper-V virtualization as platform for SAP installations. While virtualization is an important technology for increasing flexibility and improving the cost structure of SAP landscapes, the requirements in performance and availability of SAP applications typically depend on appropriate information for planning, sizing and design of SAP infrastructures.  The presentation will cover the aspects of performance and sizing, infrastructure design (like storage, network, high availability), operational aspects and monitoring and licensing questions of SAP Web Application Server on Hyper-V. Based on the provided information, attendees can plan infrastructures for SAP on Hyper-V and assess the technologies for running SAP applications in a virtualized environment.

Registration details will soon be available in the News section on the Virtualization website.
