Some new Microsoft Azure resources for partners!

Todd Sweetser

Hi Cloud Partners! Wanted to pass along some new resources and tools that are available to assist you in positioning, selling and driving consumption of Microsoft Azure.

First is the new Microsoft Azure Overview site which is housed on the partner C+E portal. This is designed to be a one-stop shop for partners to access a consolidated list of resources to assist you with your initial cloud conversations to your post-sales activities. The content includes presentation decks, sales tools, and programs. They can be used whether your customers are new to Azure, AWS users, or just starting their cloud journey. It is broken up into specific areas: Initiate the cloud conversation (sales stage 0-20%), Present & prove value (sales stage 20-80%) and Drive Consumption (100% and beyond.) You can access it here: Microsoft Azure Overview for partners.

Another new resource is the Interactive Azure Platform Overview. This is a great grouping of information on the different technologies and components of Microsoft Azure. You can select different workloads and get a quick high level overview of what it is as well as direct connections to further info including pricing, documentation, limits, SLA and more.

The last item that I wanted to pass along is the Azure App which is in public preview! This new tool will allow you to manage Azure resources from your mobile device. It can help you Stay connected to your Azure resources – anytime, anywhere. Some of it’s current capabilities are:

  • Check status and critical metrics of your Azure resources
  • Get notifications and alerts about important health issues
  • Perform simple operations to resolve common issues
  • Run powerful Azure Cloud Shell scripts in the app (coming soon)

The Azure app is with you when you need it and ready to take on those unpredictable moments, saving you that unwanted trip back to the office. However, that only scratches the surface of what's available today and especially what's in the roadmap. One item that is being looked at is CSP support. I suggest adding your request for this on the Azure App feedback forum here: CSP partner login with access to all tenants.

The app is available today on iOS and Android platform, coming soon on Windows.
