ExpressRoute Promotion

For those of you who are unfamiliar with ExpressRoute (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/expressroute), it “enables you to create private connections between Azure datacenters and infrastructure that’s on your premises or in a colocation environment. ExpressRoute connections do not go over the public Internet, and offer more reliability, faster speeds, lower latencies and higher security than typical connections over the Internet.”

In order to fully implement this technology, you need to not only subscribe to the Azure ExpressRoute service but the complementary infrastructure service from your hosting provider to provide the dedicated circuit to your customer’s datacenter.

But now for the promotion:

From January 1, 2015 through June 30, 2015, the ExpressRoute Network Service Provider 10 Mbps circuit will be available to customers free of charge* as a limited promotion. This limited promotion expires on July 1, 2015, and the 10 Mbps circuit will return to its full price at that time.

Although you still need to subscribe to the ISP’s circuit and this is the lowest speed port offering, this promotion significantly reduces the price to pilot Azure ExpressRoute with your customers.
