Azure Technical Training OnDemand at Microsoft Virtual Academy

Josh Condie – A lot of people assume that being a Microsoft employee gives you access to any Microsoft technical training you desire (cloud or on-prem).  While this can be the case for some roles in the company, and for those who are especially adept at scouring the depths of our employee intranet, I often find that the best technical training is right in front of us all, on the public domain.  Microsoft Virtual Academy is just such an example:

Right now, there is an excellent set of Azure technical trainings available for Partners and IT Pro that are exploring Public Cloud and IAAS as a new practice opportunity.  The first, 5-part series entitled:  Establish Microsoft Azure IaaS Technical Fundamentals” is a 300-level overview of all things IAAS inside of Azure.  Furthermore, these experts share their deep technical insights on these topics and help prepare you to take Exam 70-533: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions for Microsoft Azure Specialist Certification.

Here’s an expanded view of just a few of the technical training series available:

Establish the Foundation: Core IaaS Infrastructure Technical Fundamentals

Find out what workloads can be leveraged in the Cloud Platform as a Service, plus architect and build Azure Websites from existing traditional infrastructures. Explore how to use SQL databases on Azure to simplify your administrative complexities and how to deploy workloads like SharePoint correctly in Azure IaaS.

This is a great first step towards building a Public Cloud IAAS practice, that also accelerates you towards Cloud certification, which only enhances the partner benefits and incentives you receive to sell solutions on Azure.  Self perpetuating – just have to take that first step.
