Mobile Device Support in Office 365

Q: (from Matt)

Do you know where we can find more information how mobile devices work with O365?

A:

Here’s a nice summary:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/mobility.aspx

Following are some more detailed resources:

Messaging (Exchange Online):

https://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-enterprises/ff637599.aspx

Collaboration (SharePoint Online):

https://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-online-small-business-help/use-a-mobile-device-to-work-with-sharepoint-online-sites-HA102109237.aspx

Communication (Lync Online):

https://lync.microsoft.com/en-us/what-is-lync/Pages/what-is-lync.aspx?Title=mobile-apps&tabID=4&itemID=4

Once you go to the E4 Plan, you have either an on premises or Lync-to-Phone hosted Lync server. In those scenarios the Lync uses call-back for phone and conference calls.

Productivity (Office):

Office 2010 is not natively installed on ANY mobile device, and only the Windows Phone have the Office Phone Apps. For mobile access to the Office Web Apps, follow the SharePoint Online guidance.
