You’ll want to check out the brand new SMB Server Experience and Server Selection Tools on the Midsize Business Solution page (screenshot below) of the microsoft.com Server and Cloud Platform site.  These tools  just launched today and are a unique solution which will hopefully make it very easy for our SMB customers (as well as you partners) to see how Microsoft server & management solutions stack up against the competition and address their current business needs.

The Windows Server Experiences component (blue track above) is designed to help customers get a better understanding of what a server can do for the business and how easy it can be to manage a server environment.   Using this link, you’ll have the opportunity to walk through brief scenarios with SBS, Windows Server, and System Center Essentials, ranging from “New User Creation” to “Hyper-V Live Migration” or “Virtualizing a Physical Server.”  Below are some screenshots of this process:

The Windows Server Selector component (green track) helps simplify the server selection process by recommending key products after answering just a few simple questions. IT Generalists will have the ability to better understand what server & management solutions they need and how Microsoft can address their business priorities and drive even greater customer value. IT Gens can also create a custom business case report—based on the recommended products and business concerns—supporting their ongoing IT strategies and investments. Additionally, and thanks to a great partnership with the OEM HQ team, the Windows Server Selector component is also available as a standalone partner tool via the OEM syndication engine. Based on the same logic, OEM designed and built this customizable  version of the Server Selector tool to enable partners to help their customers find the right private cloud solutions and further drive interest in Microsoft value at a local partner level.

And you should know that both components provide customers with the ability to gather more detailed information through online resources and customer evidence, as well as find quick links to download full product trials or purchase through and even connecting customers to our partners through the Microsoft Pinpoint marketplace.

Well, I hope you’ll take a moment and explore the SMB Server Experience Tool on your own today!

Cheers,

Ron
