Well, they may be in for some good news if they have purchased those licenses through an Open Value or Open Value Subscription agreement!

The Office 365 Open Value Offer provides Open Value (OV) and Open Value Subscription (OVS) customers a way to add cloud-based productivity tools through Office 365 at their own pace. This offer enables OV(S) customers with organization-wide commitments to license Office 365 at an adjusted price, based on their Software Assurance investment, through the Microsoft Online Subscription Program (MOSP).

  • What is the Office 365 Open Value Offer?
The Office 365 Open Value Offer provides Open Value (OV) and Open Value Subscription (OVS) customers a way to add cloud-based productivity tools through Office 365 at their own pace. This offer enables OV(S) customers with organization-wide commitments to license Office 365 at an adjusted price, based on their Software Assurance investment, through the Microsoft Online Subscription Program (MOSP).
This offer is available through August 2012. The offer’s pricing will be honored during the customer’s active OV(S) agreement and until their first OV(S) renewal date after August 2012.
  • How does the Office 365 Open Value Offer work?
Customers continue to maintain their current Open Value Program (with organization-wide commitment) and continue to pay the same amount at future anniversary dates. Customers can place orders for Office 365 Plan E1 through E4 via the Microsoft Online Services Customer Portal at https://mocp.microsoftonline.com for the full price at time of order. Upon receipt of the order for Office 365, Microsoft will validate the customer’s eligibility for the offer and send notification to the customer to inform them of their qualification status. A credit will be applied on the next MOCP invoice to reflect that the customer paid the full price for the intial month of the service. While the active Open Value Subscription or Open Value (with organization-wide commitment) agreement is in place, invoices over subsequent months will reflect the adjusted price.
  • What are the adjusted Office 365 prices customers will pay?
The Office 365 Open Value Offer supports multiple purchase scenarios that result in a qualified customer being able to realize some of their Software Assurance investment which is reflected in a reduced Office 365 price.  Exact pricing adjustments will vary by scenario and market.
    •    A qualified Core CAL customer can expect to pay at least 20 percent less than list price for Office 365 Plan E1.  A Core CAL customer’s invoice will be reduced by the same amount when purchasing Plan E1-E4.
    •    A qualified Enterprise CAL customer can expect to pay at least 25 percent less than list price for Office 365 Plan E3.  An Enterprise CAL customer’s invoice will be reduced more for purchasing Plan E3 and E4 than for purchasing E1 and E2, recognizing a greater workload equivalence with Enterprise CAL.
    •    A qualified Office Professional Plus customer can expect to pay at least 40 percent less than list price for Office 365 Plan E3.  An Office Professional Plus customer’s invoice will be reduced by the same amount when purchasing Plan E3 or E4.
    •    Qualified customers who have either Core CAL or Enterprise CAL and Office Professional Plus will be eligible to receive additional discounts.
