Office 365 and a Mac

Q: (from Vince)

MACs can access Office 365 correct?  They can use the Office Pro Plus as well as other components?  Customer found the system requirements on the Office 365 beta site have them thinking that MACs can access some components such as SharePoint and Exchange but cannot access Office.

A: (from John Kohl & Todd Sweetser)

Using the requirements table from BETA Service Descriptions:

https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=6c6ecc6c-64f5-490a-bca3-8835c9a4a2ea

“Yes” Macs can access Office 365 because we support the Safari browser (along with IE and Firefox). That includes the Outlook Web App, SharePoint, and the Office Web Apps (part of the E2 SKU and above).

They can also use Mac Office 2008 or 2011 if they license that separately. But the E3 SKU, which includes a subscription version of Office, only covers Office 2010 Pro Plus for the PC.
