As I was doing my last post, I looked around my team’s postings on Microsoft Online Services (MOS)/BPOS, and I noticed that although we had covered just about every aspect of MOS/BPOS that you can imagine, we had not done any in-depth post on one of the resources I think is really worthy of more exposure and that’s the MPN Quickstart Online Services.
Here’s a couple of screenshots that show most of the Quickstart home page, then I’ll drill down into all the resources you can find there, to do as its name implies and that’s get a quicker start on engaging as a reseller of Microsoft Online Services.
Starting with the home page, notice prominently displayed right on top (below main tabs) are direct links to the 4 major components of the MOSPA enrollment process (Watching the training, signing the agreement, taking the assessment, and submitting the documentation) as well as a link to enroll thru a Distribution partner (which I discussed on my previous post).
Of course, Office 365 is prominently featured on the Quickstart home page and, among other things, you see links to Office 365 specific Sales and Marketing, Product, and Training info and resources (see left/upper screenshot below). The Sales & Marketing and Product links then take you to the Office 365 tab of the Resource Center (see right/lower screenshot below), and the Training link takes you to a separate “Videos and Webcasts” resource page (back in the Home tab).
Inside the Resource Center you’ll notice there’s tabs for Find Content, Business Content, Technical Content, and PLC Content. Here’s a screenshot of Find Content tab within which you can filter results by either clicking on the green buttons or using the filter select area to the right side to help you narrow down the results to exactly what you’re looking for. BTW, I would call out the Optimization Guides and BPOS Cost Comparison Tool as resources you should definitely explore if you’re not familiar with and using them already.
Here’s screenshots of the Business Content and Technical Content tabs. Notice on the Technical Training tab there’s a button to help you find the BPOS Technical Training Plan which is a downloadable Word doc that contains a comprehensive list of BPOS training offerings, including descriptions and associated links.
Back on the home page, don’t miss this section on the right hand side with links to MOS demos and other “Top Links”.
And be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the home page to find information on how other partners are driving direct and indirect benefits that BPOS enables in businesses as well as info on how to be a part of the Cloud Power Campaign.
Of course, you probably saw the Community/Blog tab which has links to LOTS of additional information, including key blogging sites and posts from the MOS Team blog as well as from external blogs such as BPOS Tutor. And, as you can see from the shot below, you can also access Discussion groups and Events in this area as well.
Moving on to the Resource Wiki tab, here’s where you can find up to date service and technical information that complements information available on Microsoft Online Services help and Microsoft Download Center. Remember, though this WIKI is in BETA.
The My Profile tab is pretty self-evident, so not going to bother with a shot of that. The “Voice of the Partner” tab, however, even though it’s pretty self-explanatory as a repository of partner testimonial videos, I wanted you to see this screenshot to see the range of topics covered by the different subtabs as well as the additional categories within each subtab.
So there you have it, a “tour de force” if you will of the awesome partner resource known as MPN Quickstart Online Services. If you haven’t already availed yourself of at least some of these resources then “on your mark, get set, and GO…” for this incredible source of Online Services knowledge – no, I won’t call it the “one-stop shop”, even though it is very comprehensive, only because there are other good sources of MOS info that I hope you’ll explore as well. But I hope you’ll agree that Quickstart is worthy of your attention and use. And Enjoy!
Cheers, as always,
