Microsoft Server Virtualization: Advanced Planning, Assessment, Architecture, and Management 3 Day Training Available in Select Locations

 

A 400-level, three-day, instructor-led course focused on advanced virtualization design, architecture, project planning, and holistic management. This course will be led by an experienced MCS Senior Consultant who brings real-world experiences and Microsoft Product Group prescriptive guidance to the course.

First you’ll learn the virtualization project lifecycle including: engaging with customers, determining business value, calculating ROI, infrastructure assessment with the Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit, and determining Hyper-V R2 Host design requirements. Then, in the Advanced Design and Architecture portion you will learn the critical elements and considerations for a highly-available, highly reliable and full-featured virtualized datacenter including: Host & Cluster architectures, SAN storage, networking, and more. Finally, you’ll learn the end-to-end management and operations solution using System Center Virtual Machine Manager R2, Operations Manager R2, and Data Protection Manager 2010. Advanced topics also covered such as VMware / Hyper-V architecture and management comparison, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Multi-Site Clustering, Dynamic Resource Allocation with PRO Tips, PowerShell scripting, Enterprise Storage, and more. Will include instructor-led live demonstrations.

Designed for experienced IT Pros, Virtualization and/or VMware architects, this course builds on your foundational knowledge of enterprise infrastructure architecture, Windows Server, Hyper-V and the System Center Suite. This course will not cover in detail basic topics such as product overviews and installation. Adam Fazio is a Microsoft Solutions Architect with over 11 years of industry experience. He has led complex Virtualization projects for a variety of high-profile customers as well as served as the technical lead for the global Virtualization Rapid Deployment Program at Microsoft supporting over 100 pre-RTM Hyper-V and SCVMM deployments. Adam is a published writer and regular conference speaker on Microsoft Virtualization and infrastructure solutions.
