Site Discovery and Ready for Windows data are now available in Upgrade Analytics

Today, we are excited to announce the addition of two new features in Upgrade Analytics – Site discovery and Ready for Windows integration. Site discovery is an optional component that can provide you with an inventory of web sites that are being used by your Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 devices that run Internet Explorer 11. This information can help with prioritizing web application testing as part of upgrading to Windows 10.

Site Discovery

Site discovery data is based on the previously-released Internet Explorer Site discovery toolkit. This data collection is disabled by default and only sent when the device has been opted-in via registry or Upgrade Analytics Deployment Script. You can find information about the data points sent to Upgrade Analytics in the TechNet documentation

ISV support status for applications from Ready for Windows

The Ready for Windows website lists software applications that are supported and broadly adopted on Windows 10. It is intended for IT managers at companies and organizations worldwide who are considering Windows 10 for their deployments. Integration with Upgrade Analytics means you’ll be able to see adoption and vendor support status for applications used by your enterprise. Check out the Ready for Windows portal to learn more about Ready for Windows, and our TechNet documentation to learn more about how to utilize this in your workflow with Upgrade Analytics.

Both features are publicly available right now. If you are a current user of Upgrade Analytics, Ready for Windows will work without any additional configuration necessary. If you’d like to take advantage of Site discovery, you will need to explicitly enable this by opting in your client computers. Learn how on TechNet
