TechEd Challenge 2014 Winners

The wait is over and the winners of the TechEd Challenge have been revealed… Congratulations to Jamie Bryant, Peter Egerton, Jessica Meats and Marcus Robinson who have all won a paid trip to TechEd Europe 2014!!

Just a recap, the aim of the TechEd Challenge 2014 was for members of the public to submit a video relating to the categories: Cloud Ninja and Rackman, Dr Desktop, Captain Code and Kick-ass Female IT Pro to be in with a chance of winning an all expenses paid trip to TechEd Europe 2014. After much deliberation which took into account the voting made by the public, the winning videos were chosen. 

Catch up with the Winners

Exclusively for you, we caught up with the winners to see what they are most looking forward to about TechEd Europe 2014. 

Firstly, we spoke to Jamie Bryant the winner of Captain Code category. Jamie is a Cloud Strategy Specialist at Comms-care. He spends the majority of his time designing and implementing Microsoft CloudOS technologies, and working with clients to outline their technology strategy moving forward. 

"I am looking forward to going to TechEd to see and hear the latest from Microsoft and to network with my colleagues in the field. Also, I hear they throw a great party. It is my first time at TechEd and I am really looking forward to the experience."

We then caught up with Peter Egerton the winner of the Dr Desktop category. Peter is a System Center consultant and specialises in System Center Configuration Manager and also helps run the Windows Management User Group.

“I’m particularly interested in the Enterprise Mobility Suite at the moment and I’m looking forward to sessions on this at TechEd Europe. I’m also looking forward to meeting with others from the System Center community.”

Jessica Meats the winner of the Kick-ass Female IT Pro category, she works for Microsoft Gold Partner Core as a pre-sales consultant, demoing Microsoft technology and helping businesses understand how it can help them.

“My background is in SharePoint and I’ve written the book (literally) on InfoPath. I’m looking forward to seeing the latest technology updates.”

Last but not least we caught up with Marcus Robinson the winner of the Cloud Ninja and Rackman category. Marcus is MD at Octari Ltd in Leeds and also delivers technical training with Learning Tree International.

“I have a passion for the latest Microsoft technologies and work most frequently on Windows Server projects involving Hyper-V and Remote Desktop Services. At TechEd Europe I hope to learn about the new features in Windows Server Technical Preview and Microsoft Azure IaaS especially RemoteApp and Site Recovery to Azure.”
