The week that was – 31 August–3 September

It’s been a short but busy week here in my little corner of Microsoft UK HQ. It’s been good to hear from so many of you and I’m pleased you’re enjoying our young blog. Here’s what I’ve been rambling on about this week.

Tuesday brought news of new Hotmail features that have already made my email life a lot easier. I also found the Hey! Scripting Guy blog while I was perusing TechNet and remembered he was always quite a popular feature in the TechNet Flash newsletter.

Wednesday’s posts saw me ferreting about deep within TechNet again to bring you some of the great information that we don’t always make it very easy to find. I found the latest updates to the Infrastructure Planning and Design (IPD) series, along with TechNet Virtual Labs, your passport to easy, free online evaluations of the latest Microsoft technologies.

Thursday (though the blog claims it was Wednesday, for some reason) was a fun day, with the results of last week’s TechNet Flash competition. We asked you to send in photos of your weird and wonderful workspaces, and send them in you did. Five of you are now the envy of all your colleagues at coffee break time. Also on Thursday we posted a great guest article from Andrew Fryer, along with his video interview with Jon Lickiss, Microsoft intern and aspiring IT professional.

It’s Friday again – I’m sure this place has some kind of time-altering cleverness built into its fabric because it always seems to be Monday or Friday to me. Anyway, today’s posts announced the arrival of this fortnight’s TechNet Flash newsletter and a quick tip of the day from TechNet magazine.

Have a great weekend!
