Extending the Active Directory Schema

Microsoft provides a base schema definition for implementing Active Directory, and many applications take advantage of the underlying simagetructure it provides—instead of building their own schema from the ground up. But many applications do need to extend the schema for their own needs, and they have to do this without compromising the base schema so many applications depend on.
