First Test Lab Guide eBook for the SharePoint 2013 Intranet and Team Sites stack

Hey mobile TLG fans,

I recently published the Download Test Lab Guide: eBook for SharePoint Server 2013 Intranet and Team Sites, the first Test Lab Guide (TLG) content in eBook form (click Download to get the eBook in EPUB, MOBI, PDF, and DOC formats).

This eBook is a customized document that contains the end-to-end configuration for the following TLG stack (click on it for a larger version):

The eBook takes the pertinent sections from these four documents and steps you through the following sections:

  • Steps for Configuring the Corpnet Subnet
    • Step 1: Configure DC1
    • Step 2: Configure APP1
    •  Step 3: Configure CLIENT1
    • Snapshot the configuration
  • Steps for Configuring the SQL Server
    • Step 1: Install and configure a new server named SQL1
    • Step 2: Install SQL Server prerequisites
    • Step 3: Install SQL Server 2012 Enterprise
    • Step 4: Verify the installation
    • Snapshot the configuration
  • Steps for Configuring the SharePoint Three-Tier Farm
    • Step 1: Install SharePoint Server 2013 on APP1
    • Step 2: Install and configure a new server named WFE1
    • Step 3: Install SharePoint Server 2013 on WFE1
    • Step 4: Demonstrate the facilities of the default Contoso team site
    • Snapshot the configuration
  • Steps for Configuring Intranet and Team Sites
    • Step 1: Configure the intranet and team sites on APP1
    • Step 2: Verify the intranet and team sites
    • Snapshot the configuration

Although not modular (the separate modules of the stack are still available), this custom eBook provides a more optimized end-to-end experience that gets you to the intranet and team sites SharePoint test lab configuration more quickly.

Please let me know what you think of this alternative method of publishing TLG content by leaving a comment on this blog post. If you find eBook-based TLG content helpful, what other stacks and end-to-end configurations would you like to see in eBook format?

For more information about TLGs, see Test Lab Guides.

Enjoy (mobile-ly, this time)!
