Today’s tip… The new iSCSI software target that comes with Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 is now easily ‘clusterable’. That is, it can quickly be added to a Failover Cluster and even has its own resource DLL. Here is a screenshot of a target running inside Failover Cluster.
Today’s tip… The iSCSI software target included in Windows Server 2012 differs from previous versions in how it handles change tracking. Older versions used a .CBM (Change BitMap) file… The new version utilizes VSS for change tracking. So administrators might notice that the .CBM files no longer exist with the new inbox iSCSI target.
