Shortcut

Description

 (Windows Key)

Open and close the Start menu. 

 + 1,  + 2, etc.

Switch to the desktop and launch the nth application in the taskbar. For example,  +1 launches whichever application is first in the list, numbered from left  to right.

 + A

Open the Action Center.

 + B

Put focus on/highlight the Notification Area.

 + C

Display the charms menu for Windows 10 apps.

 + D

Toggle between Show Desktop (hides/shows any applications and other windows) and the previous state.

 + E

Switch to the desktop and launch Windows Explorer with the Computer tab displayed

 + F

Find and search using Cortana or the Files search feature.

 + H

Open the Share  charm.

 + I

Open the Settings  app.

 + K

Open the Connect pane to search, connect to wireless projection, and stay connected to the internet using the device’s Wi-Fi network card.

 + L

Lock the device and go to the Lock screen.

 + M

Switch to the desktop and minimize all open windows.

 + P

Open the Connect pane to search and connect to projection and Bluetooth audio devices.

Switch to the desktop and display the Run dialog box.

With multiple monitors, move the Start menu to the left monitor.

Zoom in.

Close the Magnifier.

Dock the active window to the left half of the monitor.

Dock the active window to the right half of the monitor.

Maximize the active window.

Restore or minimize the active window.

Maximize the active window vertically, maintaining the current width.

 + Shift + Down Arrow

Restore or minimize the active window vertically, maintaining the current width.

With multiple monitors, move the active window to the monitor on  the left.

With multiple monitors, move the active window to the monitor on  the right.

Minimize all non-active windows; restore on second keystroke.

Take a picture of the screen and place it in the Computer > Pictures > Screenshots folder.

Switch to next or previous Virtual Desktop.

Create a new Virtual Desktop.

Close the current Virtual Desktop.
